Increased activity at Zurich Airport

The desire to travel and the easing of travel restrictions by many countries are noticeable at Zurich Airport. The medical situation has steadily improved in recent weeks, at least in large parts of Europe, and the federal government no longer generally advises against travel. Whether family visits, vacations or business appointments - after more than a year of the Corona pandemic, life is gradually returning to Zurich Airport.

Recommendations for travelers

Due to extended document checks, the waiting times at check-in may be longer. We recommend that passengers arrive at Zurich Airport at least two hours prior to departure and, where required, arrive tested and informed about the regulations in their destination countries. This includes information about applicable test certificates as well as entry and quarantine regulations. Passengers are also asked to have all the necessary documents ready at check-in, to ensure the fastest possible processing. Whenever possible, web check-in is also recommended.

Today's announcement by the Swiss Federal Council to relax the quarantine rules for vaccinated people is a step in the right direction allowing freedom of travel again. Anyone who has been vaccinated, tested or has recovered should be able to leave and enter the country without quarantine and move freely within Switzerland. The frequently changing travel and quarantine rules unsettles many passengers and make it difficult to plan. Along with the gradual normalization of public life, planning reliability related to travel must also be restored with reliable rules and conditions.

Wishing you all a great Holiday Season

Dear all

I am wishing you a great holiday season, a merry christmas and a happy new year.

2020 has been the hardest year in aviation history. No one would have thought or imagined that something like this would be possible.

So we should not look back but forward to a "hopefully" much better 2021. There will be again bumps ahead of us but as we are already at the bottom we can only start going up the hill again.

Until 2021 starts you have now time to unwind, relax and enjoy some quality time with your closest loved ones.

With best regards

Flight Operation is slowly resuming in Europe

Slowly flight operation is resuming in Europe. More and more airlines are increasing the destinations they are flying to or increasing the frequencies to cities in their network. Luckily, this is a step into the right direction. The last month have been difficult for everyone in the aviation industry.

It is now more important than ever that local and airline specific procedures are adhered to and especially that hygiene regulations are strictly followed. There are now many regulations out there which are either country and/or airline specific which need to be followed.

Should your airline need any assistance in checking these procedures at Zurich Airport or any outstation please do not hesitate to get in contact with me. I would be happy to offer you local assistance during your turnarounds.
